Job Description | Senior Director, Post-production:

The Senior Director, Post-Production is a leadership role that manage a team of editors and motion graphic artists. The Senior Director, Post-Production is responsible for the overall post- production product. This person will assist with scheduling post-production projects, overseeing the QC process, and managing the editing overall workload. This position will collaborate with departmental leadership to develop and maintain post-production workflows and processes. This person is also a full-time editor with their own projects collaborating with producers, directors, graphic designers, and account teams to create compelling and cinematic videos. This position reports directly to the SVP of Video Production.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere and the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Advanced knowledge of video editing techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of motion graphic creation
  • Ability to inspire and lead a team of post-production creatives
  • Great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of industry standard workflows, technologies, and platforms
  • Creative thinking, dynamic problem-solving and superior storytelling abilities
  • Ability to edit in a wide variety of styles with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional client service skills, demonstrated patience, and the ability to function well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of third party plug-ins and digital video and audio file formats
  • Working knowledge of different camera platforms and codecs
  • Advanced skills in media management and archiving
  • Ability to analyze and create post-production processes and workflows
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to assess creative briefs, review scripts, and provide feedback and suggestions to producers/directors
  • Maintain departmental workflow processes and standard operating procedures

Required Experience:

  • BS or BA with a major course of study in Media/Video Production
  • 8-years of experience work in an agency environment
  • Intimate knowledge of every aspect of the video production process
  • Detail-oriented and proven ability to work under deadline pressure
  • Demonstrate creative decision-making and problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and inspire a team of creatives

Preferred Experience:

  • Motion graphic design (big plus!)
  • Working knowledge of today’s top digital cinema cameras
  • Experience writing scripts
  • Working knowledge of EFP lighting techniques
  • Working knowledge of digital still photography
