For many years now, the trend within the life science industry has been to incorporate the patient voice wherever possible. Throughout the product lifecycle, various instruments have served this purpose, notably patient advisory boards and patient focus groups. A more recent trend however has given birth to Patient Leadership Councils (PLCs), through which patients receive permanent and comprehensive representation within companies and take influence on a tactical and strategic level.
