Omnicom’s Snow Companies Donates to Rare Cancer Research Foundation (RCRF)

The Virginia-based global patient engagement agency has won Omnicom Health Group’s OHGfit Challenge and selected the RCRF to receive the prize donation.
Williamsburg, VA, January 9, 2019 – Snow Companies handed over a check for $20,000 to the Rare Cancer Research Foundation on Wednesday. This amount was the prize for winning 1stplace in Omnicom Health Group’s OHGfit Challenge. A few months after joining Omnicom Health Group (OHG), part of Omnicom Group (NYC: OMC), Snow Companies took part in the challenge, encouraging employees to log as many steps per day as possible with a fitness tracker. The OHG agency with the highest average step count for the month of October would be given an opportunity to donate the prize money for a charity of their choice. With over 100 employees participating, and logging 354’113 steps on average per participant, Snow Companies came out on top of this challenge and selected the Rare Cancer Research Foundation (RCRF) to receive the donation.
“OHGfit was an amazing team building opportunity for us,” said Brenda Snow, Founder & CEO of Snow Companies. “We all became more health conscious, and some of us even became aware of major health issues they needed to take care of,” she added. Corbin Wood, COO of Snow Companies, concurred: “It brought us together and ignited our competitive spirit.” He explained that the RCRF was selected after much internal deliberation. “In our daily work, we come across many fantastic nonprofits, and we found RCRF to be deserving because they demonstrated their commitment to serving patients, just like Snow does.” He specifically highlighted RCRF’s Pattern.org initiative that allows patients to donate tissue and medical data to research.
Rare cancers leading cause of cancer deaths

The check handover was originally scheduled to take place in December but was derailed by snow storms.
